How does baby name matching work?
You and your partner browse names separately and choose Love, Pass or Later. Once you connect with a private invite code, names you both love appear in Matches. You can turn on optional notifications for new matches.
Can I start choosing names on my own?
Yes. Start a guest account without an email or password, explore names and save your favourites. You can invite your partner whenever you are ready. An internet connection is required to load names and save choices.
Is Baby Name Matcher available to download?
Baby Name Matcher is coming soon to iPhone and iPad. We will add the App Store download link here when it launches. The app is currently under Apple review.
How much does it cost?
A one-time purchase of 99p in the UK, with local pricing shown in the App Store at launch. There are no subscriptions, in-app purchases or ads. Each person downloads the app through their own App Store account.
Can we add a name we already have in mind?
Yes. Add a custom name to your linked couple’s collection and include it in your choices. You can also explore meanings, origins, pronunciations and nicknames where available.
Where do the name trends come from?
Trend charts use published baby-name statistics for England and Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland. Coverage varies by name, region and year. See our data sources and credits for details.
Are our names and account details private?
The app has no public profile or public name feed. Your account and choices are stored so matching works, and diagnostics help us fix problems. There is no advertising tracking. You can delete your account in Settings, including a guest account. Read the privacy policy or contact support.
