Privacy Policy

Baby Name Matcher helps you explore names and find favourites with a partner. This policy describes the information processed when you use the app.

Information we collect

• Account details: choosing Start creates a guest account with a unique account ID. An email address and display name are stored if you provide them through account features. A guest account does not require either.
• Your name journey: Love, Pass and Later choices, custom names, partner membership, invite codes and shared matches. These records are associated with your account so the app can remember your choices and find matches.
• Notification identifiers: when you enable match alerts, Firebase and Apple process installation and push tokens. We associate your current push token with your account to deliver alerts to the right device.
• Diagnostics: Firebase Crashlytics receives crash and error reports, stack traces, app and operating-system versions, device information and installation identifiers. We do not deliberately attach your account ID or email to crash reports.
• Support: if you contact us, we receive the information you send, such as your email address, message and optional support ID.

How information is used and shared

We use account and name records to provide the app, connect your chosen partner, calculate matches and show saved names. Custom names and shared matches are available within your linked couple. There is no public profile, public name feed or messaging feature.

We use diagnostics to understand failures and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information, show advertisements, or use data to track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Service providers process information to operate the app: Supabase provides authentication and database hosting; Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple deliver notifications; Firebase Crashlytics processes diagnostic reports; Railway hosts the worker that sends match alerts. Network and security logs may include IP addresses and request metadata.

Notifications and your choices

Match notifications are optional. You can change alert permissions in your device settings. Turning alerts off does not prevent you from browsing names or seeing matches in the app.

Deleting your account

In the app, open Settings and choose Delete account. This is available for guest accounts too. After confirmation and a successful server response, your account, profile, saved choices, custom names and registered push tokens are removed from the active database. Shared matches and obsolete match alerts are also removed. Your partner retains their own account, choices and custom names.

Deletion is permanent. Reopening the app does not create another account; you must choose Start again to begin a new guest journey. A guest account may be lost if you remove the app or its local data, so contact support with your support ID if you need help locating it.

If you no longer have the app, you can request deletion by email. We will help identify your account and verify ownership before acting on the request.

Retention and security

Account and name records are retained while the account exists. Operational logs, backups and diagnostic reports have separate provider retention schedules and are not all erased immediately by account deletion. Firebase states that Crashlytics retains crash data and associated identifiers for 90 days before removal from live and backup systems begins. We use access controls and encrypted connections to protect account records.

Our providers may process information outside your country. Their privacy and security terms describe their safeguards and retention practices: Supabase, Firebase, Railway and Apple.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, object to certain uses, and raise concerns with your data protection authority. Contact us to make a request; we may need information to verify that the account belongs to you.

Children

The app is intended for people choosing baby names, rather than children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
